How to Lose Weight
My way of losing weight is to reduce calories and exercise. First you have to figure out how many calories your body needs a day to maintain its weight. You can figure that out here http://www.lose-weight-with-us.com/bmr-calculator.html (It’s not the BMR, it’s the average daily calorie need). To burn one pound, you need to burn 3500 calories more than your average daily calorie need. Let’s say you want to burn 1 pound a week, so you’d divide 3500 by 7, and get 500. You would subtract 500 from your calorie need, and that’s how many calories you eat per day! You can also use different values to see what you get. Start switching to healthy options- lean meats, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc. Junk food is full of calories, excessive amounts of fats/carbs, and won’t fill you up as well. It’s easy to limit calories-water instead of pop, homemade sandwiches instead of fast food burgers, smaller portions on plate, fruits instead of candy, the possibilities are endless. Try to never go under 1200-1000 calories because you won’t be getting the nutrients your body needs. Also, try to exercise (cardio) several times a week because that burns extra calories too. You could walk, run, bike, clean the house… just keep moving! Little changes like taking the stairs, walking across the parking lot, and doing jumping jacks during tv commercials add up and make a huge difference. Have a positive outlook because you will probably make mistakes. Self-love is the main difference between successful and unhealthy weight loss.
